Sara Maurer
Hi! I’m Sara, and I am Clover and Color Art. I began my art journey in high school, which is where I first discovered my love of watercolors. Life caused me to take a long hiatus as I began my career in teaching elementary school. In 2019, I decided I needed to revisit some of the things that had made me happy when I was younger, and I came back to art.
Clover and Color is named for my black lab, Clover, who would sit on my feet under the table as I restarted my painting journey.
My favorite mediums are watercolor and gouache, which have challenged me to let go of some of my perfectionism. I am pushing myself to learn more and grow as an artist by trying different mediums and taking workshops from other amazing artists. I also teach adult watercolor and acrylic classes at a local wine and paint studio.
Most of my work is inspired by my time outside, and I’ve recently started to bring my sketchbook and paints outdoors with me. I hope you can take a deep breath and get a glimpse of the beauty around us through my paintings. Thank you for joining me on this journey!
